What is included in the charter price?
The standard charter price typically includes the yacht rental, crew salaries (if applicable), and insurance for the yacht and crew. It generally excludes fuel, food and beverages (provisions), dockage fees outside the home port, and local taxes (VAT). A fixed Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is usually required to cover these operating expenses.
Do I need a sailing license to charter a yacht?
It depends on the type of charter. For a crewed yacht charter (with a captain), no license is required. For a **bareboat charter** (self-charter) of a Sailing Yacht or Catamaran, a recognized sailing license or equivalent competency certificate is mandatory. We will require a copy of your license during the booking process to verify.
How far in advance should I book my yacht?
We strongly recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance, especially for high-demand seasons (July and August) and for the most popular yachts (new models or luxury Gulets). Booking early ensures you get the best choice of yacht and the dates that suit your travel plans.
What is the required payment schedule?
A typical payment schedule is 50% of the charter fee upon contract signing to secure the booking. The remaining 50%, plus the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) and VAT, is usually due 30 to 45 days before the charter start date. Specific terms may vary based on the yacht and location.
