Are Standard Gulets crewed, and what is included?
Yes, all gulet charters, including Standard Gulets, are offered with a mandatory professional crew (typically a Captain, Chef, and Deckhand). The crew salaries, their provisions, and the yacht’s insurance are always included in the base charter fee. You are responsible only for the provisions and expenses related to the guests.
Is food and beverage service included in the price?
Unlike motor yachts, gulet charters often follow a fixed full-board meal plan where food is provided by the yacht’s chef and is paid for via a fixed weekly fee, rather than using an APA. Beverages are typically extra. The exact cost of the mandatory food package will be specified in your contract.
Do Standard Gulets require an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA)?
Most Standard Gulets do not use the APA system. Instead, expenses are handled through fixed costs: the mandatory weekly food package, and fuel/docking fees which are often minor and sometimes included for typical routing. This makes the total cost more predictable than high-end motor yacht charters.
How fast do gulets travel and how flexible is the itinerary?
Gulets are built for comfort and smooth sailing, not speed. They typically cruise under engine power to maintain a schedule but at a moderate pace. Your itinerary is always fully flexible; you decide the anchorages, swimming spots, and stops with advice from your captain, provided the route is safe and feasible within the charter period.
